ABOUT THE GAME

Split the Earth with an axe that is way too big.

A free 3D browser game about growing a normal 0.97 m axe until it is bigger than the Earth itself.

What is this game?

At first you can barely fell a single tree. Every tree you cut makes your next swing's axe bigger. Chop through the forest, mountains, sea, and continents, then take on the Earth itself.

No downloads or accounts. Just hold, release, and enjoy the ridiculous numbers. It is a short, silly game about the thrill of growth.

How to play

  1. Tap or click to start.
  2. Hold (or press Space) to charge the power gauge.
  3. Release in the striped PERFECT zone at the far right. A perfect hit grows the axe the most.
  4. The more trees and terrain you cut in a single swing, the bigger your next axe becomes.
  5. Advance through Forest → Mountain → Sea → Continent → Earth. Earth can only be cut with a perfect swing.
  6. Your score is the number of swings it takes to split the Earth. Fewer is better. Progress saves automatically in this browser.

What does "dekasugite-ono" mean?

The domain name comes from Japanese. It is the romanized form of デカすぎて斧 (dekasugite ono).

デカすぎて (dekasugite) means "too big" or "ridiculously big." It comes from デカい (dekai, "huge") plus すぎて (sugite, "too much / excessively"). 斧 (ono) means "axe."

So "dekasugite-ono" literally means "an axe that is way too big." The full Japanese title, まじブンブンブンデカすぎて斧, adds まじ (seriously) and ブンブンブン (the whooshing sound of swinging an axe).

Tips for a faster clear

Aim for the striped PERFECT zone. It gets narrower as your axe grows. Cut as much as possible in one swing. On Earth, only a perfect swing works. If you miss, the result screen tells you how much a perfect hit would have grown your axe.
